Asia Australia Discussion Agreement bunker charge US$325/TEU July 1

MEMBER lines of the Asia Australia Discussion Agreement (AADA) have increased the bunker surcharge from Japan, Korea, mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan for cargo going to Australia.

To reflect recent increase in bunker prices in Hong Kong and South Korea, the surcharge will be US$325 per TEU and US$650 per FEU for dry and refrigerated containers from July 18, said the AADA statement. 

"Customers requiring further information concerning the bunker surcharge are advised to contact the member lines," it said.

AADA members are ANL Singapore, APL China Shipping, Cosco, Evergreen, Hamburg Sud, Hanjin Shipping, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, "K" Line, MSC, MOL, NYK Line, OOCL, PIL, Sinotrans, TS Line and Yang Ming.
