PIRAEUS Container Terminal in Greece, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cosco Pacific Limited, has ordered nine more electric rubber-tyre gantry cranes (eRTGs) from Kalmar with deliveries scheduled for next year for the zero-emission cranes that are nine + one wide.

The Finnish equipment manufacturer said in a statement that its previous deliveries to the terminal consisted of 12 eRTGs in 2013 and nine eRTGs in 2015.

Terminal deputy general manager Li Jianchun said the cranes will "enhance capacity in the yard. The eRTGs apply new technologies that enhance productivity, reliability and flexibility".

The e-One2 RTG cranes have a 41-ton capacity and will be fitted with an automatic gantry steering system.
