PSA Dongguan CT assigned to handle hazardous cargo

LOCAL authorities in China`s Dongguan province have given the go ahead to PSA Dongguan Container Terminal (PSA DGCT) to handle dangerous cargo, including IMO Classes 3, 4, 5.1, 6.1, 8 and 9, according to a statement from the terminal operator.
The dangerous cargo container yard located within the terminal and built over 8,568 square metre has a capacity of 204 TEU.
PSA DGCT, at Humen port area, also saw the launch of two weekly direct that link it with Taiwan and with Singapore, South and West Africa. It is connected to Hong Kong via barge services. It is located on the east side of the Pearl River estuary in Dongguan City and its two-berths can accommodate 50,000-tonne ships.
PSA International, whose primary operations are concentrated at Singapore Terminals and PSA Antwerp, is involved in 28 port projects in Asia, Europe and the Americas that collectively handled 56.9 million TEU last year. Its terminals have a capacity of 111 million TEU and 66 kilometres of quay length.
