SPANISH port congestion and bad weather on the Atlantic have combined to a sliding of Mediterranean-Canada (MCA) schedules, culminating in a five-day delay in the arrival of the Hapag-Lloyd`s Genoa Express, reports Lloyd`s Loading List.

The German shipping giant reported the extraordinary delay of its 3,266-TEU vessel adding that it expected further delays due to Christmas Holidays. "Therefore we decided to slide the Genoa Express 08 W 49 and all following sailings by one week to regain and ensure schedule reliability," according to a statement.
