Port of Shanghai October volume up 5.9pc to 3.22 million TEU

THE Port of Shanghai, the world`s busiest container port, posted a 5.9 per cent year on year increase in throughput in October to 3.22 million TEU, according to figures from Shanghai International Port (Group) Co (SIPG).

Last month`s throughput also rose by 2.9 per cent compared to 3.13 million TEU posted in September. In the first 10 months of 2016, Shanghai posted a volume of 30.82 million TEU, up 1.4 per cent year on year.
