Rate hike round up: Maersk, CMA CGM and Hapag-Lloyd lead the pack

MARESK, CMA CGM and Hapag-Lloyd issued general rate increases on various trades.

Maersk Line announced new FAK rates from Asia (excluding Japan) to Australia effective November 15 until further notice, but not beyond November 30.

Maersk also issued increased FAK rates from Asia to New Zealand effective November 15 until further notice, but not beyond November 30.

CMA CGM issued general rate restorations from Asian ports to Pakistan, India`s west coast and Sri Lanka for all cargo in two successive steps. 

On November 1, rates will increase US$100 per TEU, and on November 15, rates will increase an additional $100 per TEU.

Asian ports to Middle East Gulf ports for all cargo in two successive steps. On November 1, rates will increase $200 per TEU, and on November 15, rates will increase an additional $200 per TEU.

Asia to South Africa and Port Louis (Mauritius) for all cargo (including dry, reefer, OOG and breakbulk) effective December 1. Rates will increase $300 per TEU and $600 per FEU.

Asia (including Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Southeast Asia and Bangladesh) to West Arica for all cargo (including dry, reefer, OOG and breakbulk) effective December 1. Rates will increase $500 per TEU and $1,000 per FEU. 

CMA CGM also announced new FAK rates from all Asian main ports to all North African main ports effective November 1, and from all Asian main ports to all Mediterranean main ports, also effective November 1. 

Hapag-Lloyd issued increases from North, South and Central China to the Arabian Gulf for all cargo and container types effective November 15. Rates will increase $200 per TEU.

East Asia to North America (US and Canada) for all dry, reefer, flat rack and open top containers effective November 19. Rates will increase $540 per TEU, $600 per FEU and 40-foot high cube container and $760 per 45-footer.

East Asia to the Caribbean, the east coast of Central America, Panama, the Gulf of Mexico and Progreso for all cargo and container types effective December 1. Rates will increase $1,050 per TEU container and $1,500 per FEU.

East Asia to Mexico, the west coast of Central America and the west coast of South America for all cargo and container types effective December 1. Rates will increase $750 per TEU container and $1,500 per FEU container.

East Asia to North America (US and Canada) for all dry, reefer, flat rack and open top containers effective December 1. Rates will increase $630 per TEU, $700 per FEU and 40-foot high cube container and $886 per 45-footer.
