BANKRUPT Hanjin Shipping plans to shut down all 10 of its business operations in Europe, including its regional headquarters in Germany.

A company spokeswoman told the Wall Street Journal that the shipping line expects to start the process as early as this week after receiving approval from the Seoul Central District Court.

The decision to close its European business is part of a breakup process that the South Korean carrier launched earlier this month. A judge had said it would consider selling the company entirely.

Assets from Hanjin`s Asia-US route are already up for sale. In addition, the ocean liner is in talks with Mediterranean Shipping Co. to sell its stake in the Long Beach terminal on the US west coast.
