Hong Kong down 9.8pc in August to 1.7 million TEU, Singapore off 12pc

FIGURES from the Hong Kong Marine Department showed the port handled 1.74 million TEU in August, representing a year-on-year decrease of 9.8 per cent from 1.92 million TEU in August last year.

Singapore`s Maritime and Port Authority reported a 12pc decrease in container movement in August, having handled 2.5 million TEU compared to 2.9 million TEU in August last year.
