OOCL to levy US$250/TEU Asia-Europe rate increase from September 10

HONG KONG`s Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has announced a "revenue restoration programme" that will affect cargo transported on the westbound Asia-Europe trade.


Starting September 10. the shipping line will raise freight rates for westbound traffic from Asia to Europe by US$250 per TEU.

 
The rate hike covers shipments from the Far East (including Japan), Indian subcontinent and Middle East to North Europe, the Mediterranean and Black Sea.

 
A statement from the company said the move has been prompted by a desire to "continue providing quality and sustainable services".
