HONG KONG`s Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) and Thailand`s Regional Container Line (RCL) has announced a new China-Bangkok Service (CBS) that will extend the service network between China, Thailand and Vietnam.

Starting March 4, CBS will start with sailing of the 1,300-TEU Victoria Trader on the following port rotation: Bangkok, Laem Chabang, Ho Chi Minh City, Ningbo, Shanghai, Laem Chabang and back to Bangkok.

The new service will be jointly operated by three 1,200 to 1,300-TEU ships. CBS supplements OOCL`s existing China, Ho Chi Minh-Laem Chabang Service (CHL), which covers north China, Hong Kong, south China, Thailand and Vietnam.

"The CBS, together with CHL, will provide a much more comprehensive network on the trade between China, Thailand and Vietnam. It is also structured to link key markets in central China and Thailand to give us a competitive edge," said OOCL corporate planning chief Stephen Ng.
