Asia-to-New Zealand rate to rise US$250/TEU-$500/FEU from July 15

THE Asia New Zealand Discussion Agreement (ANZDA) will increase freight rates from July 15 on all cargo from Japan, Korea, mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

Cargo for New Zealand ports from Japan, Korea, mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam will be levied an extra US$250 per TEU and $500 per FEU for both dry and refrigerated cargo.


This increase will apply in full on top of existing ongoing market rates and will be subject to accessorial surcharges applicable at the time of shipment, said the ANZDA statement.


ANZDA members include China Navigation Company (CNCO), Cosco, Hamburg Sud, Maersk, MISC Berhad, MOL, NYK, OOCL and Pacific International Lines.
