MSC increases rates US$600/TEU Asia-Caribbean August 15

GENEVA-based Mediterranean Shipping Company will raise rates on shipments from the Far East to the Caribbean, the east coast of Central America, Colombia and Venezuela by US$600 per TEU, $750 per FEU and $850 per 40-foot high-cube.

The rate increases take effect August 15 when peak season surcharges will be assessed on cargo from south east Asia to Australia. The surcharge on cargo moving from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam will remain at $250 per TEU, reports American Shipper.
