Cosco offers peak season service from China to US west coast

COSCO will commence its transpacific China-US west coast Peak Season Express service, deploying five ships averaging 5,089 TEU by the end of the month.

The Chinese shipping giant is expected to start with the June 29 sailing of the Tian Bao He which will cover the following rotation: Shanghai, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Long Beach and back to Shanghai.



Apart from Cosco, Hanjin Shipping has also deployed extra loaders on the Asia-US trade, with the 2,932 TEU Hanjin Vancouver, now rotating between Busan, Kwangyang and Long Beach, reports Paris-based Alphaliner..



With these five ships, delivered less than a year ago, Cosco is expected to offer the peak season service until October. This will be the 11th transpacific new loop launched this year.
