OOCL to levy US$250/TEU hike from SE Asia/Mideast to Australia

HONG KONG`s Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has announced that freight rates for cargo from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, the Philippines, the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East bound for Australia will be subject to an increase of US$250 per TEU from July 1.

"To ensure the continued provision of high quality services and sufficient capacity to cater for our customer requirements, OOCL is implementing the next phase of our revenue recovery programme with effect from July 1," said the company statement.
