NOL names APL Americas president, VP for APL Logistics

SINGAPORE`s NOL Group has appointed Gene Seroka as president of its subsidiary APL shipping line`s business in the Americas. Mr Seoka succeeds John Bowe who leaves in June.
Said NOL chief executive Ron Widdows: "The Americas are critical to our success. Gene`s job is not just to maintain our presence there, but to build on our brand and grow our business."
Mr Seroka who has worked for the NOL since 1988 in five countries, was formerly regional vice president of APL`s Middle East operations, and will now be based at APL`s regional headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona.
He holds a degree in management and has experience in both container shipping and logistics business.
Joining him in Phoenix will be the newly appointed vice president of APL Logistics, David Frentzel, who has 25 years of international logistics management experience. He will be responsible for the company`s contract logistics service operations in the Americas, Asia, and Europe as well as new business development, warehousing, deconsolidation and distribution.
Before his appointment, Mr Frentzel worked for five years for DHL Supply Chain and Exel Inc, for four years with Manugistics and for 11 years as a supply chain consultant.
