Cosco Pacific volumes continue to lag, but declines narrow

VOLUMES through Cosco Pacific container terminals worldwide fell 2.3 per cent year on year in October to 35.6 million TEU, but throughput declined 6.5 per cent year to date.
Pearl River Delta terminals lost 4.5 per cent in October and 9.8 per cent for the year, with sizable gains at Guangzhou`s Nansha terminal being insufficient to offset Hong Kong and Shenzhen terminal losses. Yangtze River Delta terminals throughput fell 11.8 per cent in October, narrowing the loss from the 12.9 per cent drop for the year.
Cosco Pacific has stakes in 17 Chinese terminals and four offshore.
