CONTAINER volume though the Port of Los Angeles hit its highest mark of the year in October as it posted a 10.9 per cent month-to-month increase to 647,423 TEU from September, said port authority figures.
Both inbound and outbound container attained their 2009 peak and laden export boxes in October enjoyed a year-on-year increase of 11.8 per cent. But laden inbound boxes were down 8.3 per cent against volume in October 2008.
Year to date, there was a year-on-year drop of 15.4 per cent drop in throughput to 5,606,798 TEU.
