CONTAINER shipping lines RCL and Hapag-Lloyd are reported to have joined together the Singapore-Qingdao Express service (RKQ) and the Singapore-Shanghai Express service (the former RSQ), to offer a new Singapore-Qingdao Express service (the new RSQ).
The "new" RSQ service will deploy three container ships, ranging in size from 2,700-3,300 TEU, reports AXS-Alphaliner News, adding that two of the ships will be provided by RCL and one by Hapag-Lloyd.
The port rotation for the new RSQ service is: Singapore, Manila, Xingang, Qingdao, Busan, Xiamen, and back to Singapore.
The report noted that port of calls in Shanghai and Hong Kong that were previously covered by the two former services have been dropped. However, the China-SE Asia-India RCI service will continue to call at these two ports.
