MSC, CMA CGM take on Atlantic loop after Evergreen, CSCL quit

FRENCH shipping line CMA CGM and Switzerland`s MSC have announced combining services from north Europe to the south Atlantic, calling at Mexican and US Gulf ports from the end of September 2009.
The service was previously operated with five 3,000 TEU vessels in cooperation with Evergreen and China Shipping Container Line (CSCL) both of which have since withdrawn.
The new joint service between CMA CGM and MSC, called the New Victory Bridge service by CMA CGM, will deploy seven 5,700 to 6,000-TEU ships.
The rotation will be Antwerp, Felixstowe, Bremerhaven, Le Havre, Charleston, Savannah, Freeport, Vera Cruz, Altamira, Houston, New Orleans, Freeport, Savannah, Charleston and back to Antwerp.
