SCarolina ports handle record 185,018 TEU in January

SOUTH Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA) achieved a record high container throughput of 105,000 pier containers and 185,018 TEU in January.

As measured in pier containers, or total box volume, SCPA handled 104,792 boxes last month, topping the previous record of 104,003 containers handled in May 2015.Container volume was up 28 per cent compared to the same month last year.

As the port moves into the second half of its fiscal year, SCPA`s container volume is up eight per cent year on year.
