The four 3,100 TEU vessels will be delivered between end-2017 and the first half of 2018 and are in addition to the four 2,800 TEU vessels being built by the same yard and scheduled for the first half of this year.
In April 2014, the Izmir-based company went to the same yard for a first order of two container vessels of 2,500 TEU capacity and four months later exercised also the options for a further two units, Singapore`s Splash24/7 reported.
At that time sources indicated an estimated price range of between US$27 million and $30 million for each ship.
