APL, a part of the CMA CGM group, will commence a new weekly regional service that will enhance connectivity between the west coast of South America and major ports in Asia and the United States, effective October 14.

The new Andino Service (ANS) connects with the shipping line`s global linehaul services at the transshipment hubs of Manzanillo, Cartagena, Buenaventura and Balboa.

The ANS service calls at the ports of San Antonio, Callao, Guayaquil, Buenaventura, Manzanillo, Kingston, Cartagena and Balboa.

"We are optimising our Latin America service network with the launch of the ANS service, to facilitate west coast South America`s growing trade with Asia and the US," said APL Latin America trade chief Efrain Osorio.

"Through connecting APL services in Panama and Colombia, the ANS service will offer shippers competitive transit times between west coast South America and major US west coast and east coast ports, as well as improved access to key markets in Asia."

The ANS northbound service will provide priority handling expertise that expedites shipment of perishable reefer exports from the west coast of South America.
