MOL implements GRI for cargo from Asia to Southern Africa from August 1

JAPANESE shipping company MOL has announced it will implement a general rate increase (GRI) of US$500 per TEU and $1,000 for an FEU on all types of cargo moving from Asia to Southern Africa starting from August 1.

The company explained that the GRI action was necessary to sustain service level.

The GRI will apply to all cargo from Asia (including Indian Sub-Continent and Middle East) to Southern Africa (South Africa, Lesotho and Zimbabwe).
