MOL hikes Asia-east coast South America rate US$750/TEU June 1

JAPANESE shipping giant MOL has announced that it will implement a general rate restoration (GRR) programme applicable to all kinds of cargo moving from Asia to the east coast of South America, starting June 1.

The details of the rate hikes are: from Asia, including the Indian subcontinent, to the east coast of South America the charge will be US$750 TEU, $1,500 per FEU, and $750 per 40-foot RAD (NOR) container.
