FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM has upgraded Ethiopian services with new intermodal delivery systems and direct calls through Djibouti, the company announced.

First, CMA CGM has developed an Ethiopian intermodal service by linking Djibouti to six inland destinations, Addis Ababa, Mekele, Nefas Meewcha, Gibe, Shashemene and Jinga.

Second, the company has added two calls in Djibouti, the Ethiopian market gateway through its Mediterranean Express (MEX1) and Red Sea Express (REX2).

Most of cargo destined for the landlocked Ethiopian market transits through the Djibouti Dolareh Container Terminal.

Thus, CMA CGM has developed its Ethiopian intermodal transportation by serving six key inland destinations in partnership with reliable local stakeholders.

Djibouti is directly linked to Ho Chi Minh and Qingdao with CMA CGM offering the best transit times, linking Ningbo to Djibouti in 17 days.
