OOCL to up Asia-New Zealand rate $350/TEU from January 7

HONG KONG`s Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) will levy a US$350 per TEU rate increase for both dry and refrigerated cargo from Asia to New Zealand on January 7.

For the purposes of this "rate restoration programme", Asia is defined as Japan, Korea, mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

OOCL said it increased the rate to ensure the continued provision of quality services and sufficient capacity to cater to customer requirements.
