THAILAND`s largest container terminal operator, Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT), has handled 15 million TEU since the start of operations in 2002.

HPT manages and operates Terminals A2, A3, C1 and C2 at Laemchabang port with 15 quay cranes and 39 container yard cranes.

It plans to start construction of new deepwater facilities at Terminals D1, D2 and D3 in early 2016, reported SeatradeMaritime News.

"We continue to improve the service we provide to our customers through further investments in equipment and technology and I have every confidence that we will be celebrating the next 15 million TEU in no time at all," managing director of HPT, Stephen Ashworth, was quoted as saying.
