THE US National Labour Relations Board (NLRB) has ordered the International Longshore and Warehouse Union, ILWU Local 8, and ILWU Local 40, to cease and desist obstructing work at Portland`s Terminal 6.

What the NLRB says are violations of federal law include slowdowns and work stoppages, threats and coercion to disrupt the operations of Manila-based ICTSI that runs the Portland terminal.

"We are gratified by the NLRB`s ruling, which rejected all of the ILWU`s legal arguments." said ICTSI Oregon CEO Elvis Ganda, reported the American Journal of Transportation of Plymouth, Massachusetts.

"Hopefully, this decision will bring us one step closer to ending the ILWU`s orchestrated and illegal campaign to undermine the success of Terminal 6 and to convincing the shipping companies to return," he said.
