Oman Dry Dock repairs ‘Ibra LNG’ carrier

The company has successfully carried out maintenance work for the second ship of its type after obtaining GTT licence which qualifies it to carry out repair works for LNG carriers.
‘Ibra LNG’ belongs to the huge fleet of Oman Shipping Company’s vessels. The repair of ‘Ibra LNG’ took over 20 days after carrying out several maintenance works.
A series of repair works were carried out including integrated maintenance works such as repair of the main engine, navigation system, painting, replacing some parts in addition to various technical works managed by a competent teamwork of technicians, engineers, specialists working in high standard work environment,.
Tariq bin Mohamed AL Junaidi, acting chief executive officer of Oman Shipping Company stated that the repairs and maintenance works has been completed in a time efficient manner and in the agreed deadline between Oman Shipping Company and Oman Dry Dock.
This cooperation comes along the efforts between the two companies which commenced by providing repair & maintenance services to Muscat LNG & Masira Chemical carrier. The two companies are committed to achieving the mutual goals in terms of safety, cost, quality, & technology development which had resulted in excellence in operational performance of both companies.
Al Junaidi pointed that the two companies are keen to review the future opportunities of common interest. Oman Shipping Company targets enhancing dry dock competitive features in ships repair and maintenance which will positively add additional value to the national economy of the Sultanate in all sectors.
It is worth mentioning that ODC had repaired 255 vessels of differences sizes and specialties since its launch and it continues receiving ships repair requests from all over the world.
