Yang Ming adds connection to extend China-SE Asia-West India reach

TAIWAN`s Yang Ming line has added a further China-SE Asia-Western India connection to merge an existing West India North Asia service (WIN) service it jointly runs with NYK, Hanjin, Evergreen and X-Press Feeders.

The service, retaining NYK brand name WIN, will deploy six vessels of 3,600-4,500 TEU. One vessels will come from Yang Ming, the 3,725-TEU Ym North, which has been idle since March 22 until its inaugural sailing from Ningbo on June 9. 

The Ym North is the remaining vessel of a series of five sister ships built in 1995, the four other units were scrapped a year ago. 

Yang Ming`s service will rotate through Ningbo, Shanghai, Shenzhen-Shekou, Singapore, Port Kelang, Mumbai-Nhava Sheva, Pipavav, Colombo, Port Kelang, Singapore, Hong Kong and back to Ningbo.

Hanjin will brand the loop ICS, Evergreen as CIX 3 and X-Press Feeders as CNX 2.
