Sales of bonded marine diesel oil in February totaled 33,053 barrels (5,255 kl), down 7.6% year on year and down 2.4% month on month, METI data showed.
Japan imported 261,291 barrels (41,542 kl) of bonded bunker fuel oil in February, against no imports recorded in February 2013, METI data showed.
Bonded bunker fuel is exempt from import tax and can be sold only to ships plying international routes.
