The supply of 180 CST bunker fuel in Hong Kong has tightened following a delay in the delivery of one of Chinese state trader Sinopec`s imported cargoes, industry sources said Tuesday.

Sinopec will take delivery of a fresh cargo on April 13, which is likely to have been delayed by one to two days, a supplier said.

A source at Sinopec said as the cargo was delayed the company could offer spot 180 CST bunker fuel only after April 15 on a delivery basis due to tight supply. The Sinopec source didn`t disclose the details of the cargo.

Hong Kong imports bunker fuel mainly from Singapore with 30,000-60,000 mt size tankers.

Sinopec is the largest supplier of the 180 CST grade bunker fuel in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong suppliers sell about 500,000 mt/month of bunker fuel, including 380 CST, 180 CST and marine gasoil.
