CENTRAL China`s city Zhengzhou in Henan province has launched pilot programme for cross-border e-commerce trading, jointly conducted by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and China Customs, marking a new stage for e-commerce trading development, reports Xinhua.

Five cities, Zhengzhou, Shanghai, Chongqing, Hangzhou and Ningbo, will be the focus of the trial project where good economic and foreign trade conditions exist for the programme, which aims to develop the industry, said Lv Bin, deputy director of the General Administration of Customs.

Local customs bureaux and other related government agencies will simplify their clearance procedures and boost the process for tax rebates, foreign exchange settlement and other services.

The trial is expected to help authorities create a set of standard rules for cross-border e-commerce trading and management protocols so as to promote its development.
