SOUTH KOREA`s Hanjin Shipping and Taiwan`s Evergreen Line have announced a 23 per cent reduction in capacity on their China-Europe service for the fourth quarter in response to a seasonal drop in demand.
CUS ("China-UK Express" for Hanjin Shipping) / CEM ("China-Europe-Mediterranean" for Evergreen Line) is a weekly joint service. From 13 voyages scheduled from October to December, three will be suspended.
Hanjin Shipping and Evergreen Line said they are considering further capacity reductions on this service depending on market demand and supply situation.
Meanwhile, Hanjin Shipping, a member of the CKYH Green Alliance has cut Asia-North Europe routes from nine to eight loops with an overall capacity cut of 13 per cent starting from the mid-October as part of its winter programme.
