MSC announces peak season, bunker surcharges to take effect September 1

GENEVA-based Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), the world`s second largest carrier, has announced peak season surcharges (PSS) and bunker surcharges from September 1.


A peak season surcharge of US$300 per TEU will be imposed on its Cheetah service for shipments from Asia to south and east Africa, Indian Ocean and Mozambique.


Also, the Swiss carrier will levy a bunker surcharge of $860 per TEU for shipments from Asia to west and east Mediterranean, Adriatic, Black Sea, the UK, north and west Europe, Scandinavia, Baltic and north Africa.


For shipments between north Europe/Mediterranean and South America`s west coast and central America/Venezuela, the bunker surcharge will be $550 per TEU to $910 per TEU.
