CMA CGM adds two calls to Brazil Express on South America-Caribbean trade

FRENCH shipping line CMA CGM has decided to maintain and upgrade its fixed-day weekly Brazil Express Services (BRAZEX) starting from end August with the addition of two new Brazilian ports, Manaus and Salvador de Bahia, after the carrier ended its cooperation with Maersk Line on the South America east coast-Caribbean trade.


As from the August 20 departure from Manzanillo, Panama, en route to Brazil, the CMA group` s network will be covered by the following loop on the BRAZEX service, with a port rotation of: Manzanillo (Mon), Kingston (Thu), Port of Spain (Mon), Manaus (Tues), Suape (Tues), Santos (Sat), Paranagua (Mon), Itajai (Tues), Santos (Fri), Rio de Janeiro (Sun), Salvador de Bahia (Wed), Cartagena (Sat) and back to Manzanillo.


The carrier will be the only operator of the new service, deploying eight 1,700-TEU vessels.

 
In addition, the BRAZEX service will continue to offer relay services to South America`s north and west coast, and to Central America and the US Gulf through its four local hubs of Kingston, Port of Spain, Cartagena and Manzanillo.

 
Currently, CMA CGM offers 29 direct services to and from South America and the Caribbean.
