APL, the container shipping unit of Singapore`s Neptune Orient Lines (NOL), has taken delivery of the 10,700-TEU APL Salalah, built by South Korea`s Daewoo Shipbuilding, and is the second vessel in a series of six ordered in June 2007.

This latest newbuilding comes after the APL Southampton built by the DSME shipyard was delivered in April. The APL Salalah will be deployed on the G6 Asia-Europe Loop 4, reports Alphaliner.

They are part of a newbuilding programme of ten 10,000-TEU ships, with six of the vessels being built by DSME and the remaining four by Hyundai Heavy Industries. The HHI vessels were already delivered between December and May of this year.
