Three Sino-Vietnamese cross-border highways to open to traffic in August

THE three new international highways connecting China and Vietnam are to open to traffic in August, further facilitating passenger and cargo flow between the two countries, Xinhua reports.


The three routes are Kunming-Hekou checkpoint, the Lao Cai checkpoint, Hanoi-Haiphong, the Nanning-Youyi checkpoint, Friendship checkpoint, Hanoi and Shenzhen-Youyi checkpoint as well as the Friendship checkpoint to Hanoi.

 
China`s Guangxi Autonomous Region shares a 1,020-kilometre border with Vietnam. From 1999 to 2010, Guangxi had opened 26 international routes, 13 for passenger and 13 for cargo.
