USAC to increase Asia to US east coast rates in March and again in May

UNITED Arab Shipping Company is implementing a two-stage, general rate increase on cargo from Asia to the US east coast.

The Middle Eastern shipping line plans to increase dry cargo rates by US$240 per TEU, $300 per FEU and $340 per 40-foot high cube from March 15.


A second, general rate increase of US$560 per TEU, $700 per FEU, and $750 per 40-foot high cube will be levied from May 1. The carrier also has plans for another hike on cargo shipped from Asia to destinations in the Persian Gulf region.


This rate hike of $500 per TEU will remain in force from March 1 to March 31.
