CHENG Lie Navigation (CNC), the Taiwan-based intra-Asia subsidiary of French shipping line CMA CGM, is slot chartering space on MOL`s weekly Japan to Thailand and the Philippines service, called CBE.

The first sailing with CNC`s participation departed from Tokyo on January 7, and was undertaken by the MOL Seabreeze. The service uses three 2,495-TEU ships.

The port rotation for the CBE service is: Tokyo, Yokohama, Shimizu, Nagoya, Busan, Laem Chabang, Manila, returning to Tokyo.

A report by the American Shipper said CNC also calls at either Laem Chabang or Manila on four other loops from Japan, including the CNC-operated JTC, Yang Ming`s JTX and TS Line`s JHT. All three services link ports in Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong to Laem Chabang and Bangkok, the latter two through slot sharing agreements.

The JTS, which CNC jointly operates with Yang Ming, connects Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong to Manila, it added.
