Decline continues to 2.2pc as Asia-Europe rate hits US$500/TEU

FREIGHT rates across all major trade lanes continued to fall last week, but the rate of decline slowed, following a series of announcements by carriers that rates will go up heading into the New Year. no credit check loans in georgia

Asia-Europe dipped 2.2 per cent to US$500 per TEU, according to the latest Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).


Asia-Mediterranean rates, however, fell a significant 5.3 per cent to $691 per TEU.


On the US-bound trades from China rates edged down 0.6 per cent to $1,426 per FEU to the west coast, and 0.8 per cent to $2,535 per FEU to the east coast.


The SCFI declined 1.2 per cent to 868.31 points.
