Transpac rates up 4.3pc to US$1,543/FEU after 22-month decline

TRANSPACIFIC rates were up 4.3 per cent to US$1,543 per FEU in the first week of November, moving up from the 22-month low of $1,478 per FEU in the previous week, according to Drewry Shipping Consultants weekly benchmark.

The Drewry transpacific benchmark had slumped 16.9 per cent since late August. It is 27.2 per cent lower than the highest rates of $2,119 recorded in early January as well as 29.2 per cent lower than the rates a year ago.
