OOCL teams up with MOL, Samudera in Far East to Mumbai service

UNDER a new vessel sharing arrangement, Hong Kong`s Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) is to team up with Japan`s MOL and Samudera on the Far East-Mumbai sector by joining the two carriers on their existing NCX service, to which calls at Ningbo and Colombo will be added.

OOCL will brand the service NCS and the new rotation is Ningbo, Shanghai, Shenzhen-Dachan Bay, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mumbai-Nhava Sheva, Colombo, Port Kelang, Singapore, Shanghai, turning around in five weeks instead of four.


OOCL will add a fifth ship, reported Alphaliner, the recently chartered 2,732-TEU Antje Wulff, to the service joining Samudera`s Cape Manuel, MOL Wisdom, MOL Wind and MOL Sparkle, which are currently plying in the NCX loop.


The NCS completes OOCL`s offering on the China-Mumbai sector, as it adds to the APL-OOCL China-India Express (CIX) and to the Yang Ming-OOCL China Pakistan/India Express (CPX ), the report said.
