Zim plans US$150 per TEU Asia-Europe peak surcharge from August 14

ISRAEL`s flag carrier, Zim, is planning to impose a peak season surcharge on the westbound Asia-Europe cargo from August 15, according to American Shipper.

The surcharge, US$150 per TEU, will be applicable to destinations in northern Europe and the Mediterranean.

 US WEST COAST imports were up three per cent and exports increased nine per cent year on year in the first six months of the year, said the Pacific Maritime Association, the terminal operators group.
