Hapag-Lloyd increases west India-Europe rates US$125 per TEU in August

GERMANY`s Hapag-Lloyd has announced it will impose the general rate increase (GRI) and peak season surcharges on Asia-Europe-Mediterranean services from August 1.

For cargo from India`s west coast ports of Jawaharlal Nehru (Nhava Sheva) and Mundra to North Europe, the rates will increase by US$125 per TEU, effective from August 1, reported Newark`s Journal of Commerce. Also, a $200 per TEU peak season surcharge (PSS) for both dry and reefer will apply to Far East-Mediterranean services excluding Japan from August 1.


For all types of cargo shipped from the Far East to Mediterranean ports, the peak season surcharge will come into effect from September 1.
