Hanjin hikes Asia-Europe rate U$200/TEU from May 15

KOREA`s Hanjin Shipping has announced a rate increase on both its Asia-Europe and South Asia/subcontinent to the Mediterranean-North Europe routes from May 15.

From that date, there will be an increase of US$200 per TEU and $400 per FEU for all cargo from the Far East (excluding Japan) to the Mediterranean and North Europe, and a $150 increase per TEU and a $300 per FEU on all cargo from South Asia/subcontinent to the Mediterranean and north Europe.


"Despite our utmost efforts to reduce costs, it is inevitable for us to restore rates in order to maintain service quality and schedule reliability in the midst of hiking operation expenses. We will continue to seek all possible measures to meet our customers` needs," said a statement from the company.
