MOL Asia appoints string of regional and country managers

MOL Asia has announced a string of new regional and country appointments, with effect from April 11 to beef up operations in south east Asia and south China.

Masaru Satose, currently the regional director for MOL`s operations in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Myanmar, will transfer from Singapore to Hong Kong to assume the position of deputy managing director for MOL (Hong Kong) Agency Ltd.


He will also become a director and vice president on the MOL China board and will oversee MOL`s south China operations. Mr Satose will report to Hiroshi Ogawa, regional director for China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, a company statement said.


In the meanwhile, Sundeep Sibal, currently the regional director for west Asia, who oversees countries in the Indian subcontinent, the Middle East and East Africa, will transfer from Dubai to Singapore to concurrently assume the position of regional director for ASEAN South and hence take on additional responsibilities for MOL`s operations in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Myanmar. Mr Sibal will report to Michael Goh, the chairman and managing director of MOL Asia.


PJ Ng, currently the general manager for sales and procurement in Singapore, will be promoted to assume the position of country director for Singapore and Myanmar and will report to Mr Sibal.


Kek Beng, currently general manager operations and logistics in Singapore, will be appointed as a director on the MOL Singapore board.


"These key executives will bring to their positions many years of shipping experience and wide expertise to strengthen our regional and country organisations," added Mr Goh.
