Maersk offers fruit exporters Andes-USEC service

DANISH shipping giant Maersk Line is launching a weekly service this month to meet fruit export demand from Peru and Ecuador for the US east coast market, and provide department store merchandise for South America on southbound leg.

The Spondylus Service provides weekend arrivals at Miami, Newark, Philadelphia`s Packer Avenue Marine (PAM) Terminal and at Savannah to meet federal inspectors, and cargo availability for Monday morning, reported Newark`s Journal of Commerce. The service rotation is Paita, Guayaquil, Balboa, Miami, Newark, Philadelphia, Savannah, Miami, Manzanillo (Panama), Balboa and Esmeraldas.


The service comes a month previous to CMA CGM Black Pearl service which allows for northbound routes from San Antonio and Arica in Chile; Callao in Peru; Guayaquil in Ecuador, and also Manzanillo, Kingston and Miami.
