Evergreen, MCC Transport do Malaysia-Bangladesh loop Dec 16

TAIPEI`s Evergreen Marine, Taiwan`s largest container shipping company, has announced it will launch a vessel sharing service with Singapore-based MCC Transport on a Malaysia-Bangladesh route from December 16.

The Malaysia-Bangladesh Shuttle (MBS) will run from Tanjung Pelepas in Malaysia to Chittagong and back on a 14-day rotation, with each deploying a 700-TEU ship each, reported Taipei`s China Post. Evergreen has provided feeder services to and from Bangladesh as demand dictated in the past.


Working with MCC Transport on the new route, "Evergreen Line will be able to offer greater long haul and regional transshipment capacity, as well as shorter transshipment time," the company said.


In July, Evergreen and Taiwan`s Wan Hai Lines joined to launch a service between northern China and southeast Asia, tapping into the growing trade in the area.
