MAERSK`s AE11 and AE12 Asia-Europe services will continue with two sailing removed, and does not mean - as earlier reported by the Shipping Gazette - the end of the two services.
In a notice to trade, Maersk said: "On 2 November, we announced that we would cancel two sailings on our Asia-Europe 11 (AE11) and Asia-Europe 12 (AE12) services due to National Golden Week in the People`s Republic of China. The sailings are the Susan Maersk 509 (voyage 1010) and the Safmarine Kariba 454 (voyage 1010).
"Unfortunately, this message has been misinterpreted, leading some to believe that we would abolish the AE11 and AE12 services. This is not the case. We wish to clarify that Maersk Line is not cancelling the services AE11 and AE 12, but only cancelling two round voyages on each string, namely the Susan Maersk on AE11 and the Safmarine Kariba on the AE12," said the Maersk statement.
The Shipping Gazette regrets the error and any inconvenience it caused.
